What’s coming on 5.5.25 will change everything
At ConstructX, we didn’t just build an automated procurement software—we built it with the people who actually use it. With a promise to continually adapt, evolve and take user feedback seriously - allowing every product release to be truly field tested.
Over the last several months, we invited a select group of general contractors and subcontractors to take part in our private beta. The goal? To test ConstructX in real-world conditions, where time is short, budgets are tight, and procurement delays can destroy timelines.
Every insight from our testers helped shape a platform that works harder, moves faster, and feels familiar to every contractor who’s been buried in RFQs and spreadsheets. That same feedback didn’t just drive features—it helped set the pace for our official release.
Here’s what our builders taught us—and how their feedback shaped the next evolution of ConstructX.
âś… The Workflow: Worked!
Across every test case, the most consistent feedback we got was this:
“It actually feels like how we already work—just faster.”
The core ConstructX workflow was a win. Our AI-based system authenticated and simplified the entire procurement process:
Contractors uploaded material sheets—whether typed, scribbled, or PDF’d.
Our engine identified materials and quantities automatically.
Prices were leveled from multiple vendors inside their existing network.
Vendors responded only to relevant requests—no spam, no guessing.
Contractors could compare, select, and finalize vendors without a single phone call or spreadsheet headache.
In short? We validated that ConstructX fits seamlessly into the way contractors already work—but with 10x the speed and none of the chaos. Keep reading to find out what else we got right from our
🟢 What We Got Right
âś… Workflow: Our users found that the workflow hit every marker for all project size procurement workflows
âś… Accuracy: Our AI consistently picked up 95%+ of materials from messy, unstructured material sheets.
✅ Speed: Users generated ready to go RFQs in less than 5 minutes…
✅ Vendor Trust: Contractors appreciated that vendor RFQs stayed within their existing network—no randoms, no spam.
✅ Zero Friction: The platform required almost no training—if you can send a text or open an email, you can run ConstructX.
✅ Consistency: Quotes came in clean, standardized, and ready to compare—no PDF chaos, no Excel voodoo.
🔧 What We Changed
Our testers weren’t afraid to be brutally honest—and that’s exactly what we needed.
Here are the key upgrades that came directly from boots-on-the-ground feedback:
1. Manual Control over Material Sheets
While our AI detection was accurate, we knew we couldn’t just rely on automation. Contractors now have full control to:
Add or delete materials from their list
Manually adjust quantities
Rename or re-sort items for better clarity and flow
2. Cleaner Labels & Smarter Sorting
Some contractors flagged confusing quantity labels or overlapping units. We streamlined all labels for consistency—and added custom sorting so you can group materials how you want: by division, vendor, urgency, or cost.
3. Vendor–Contractor Messaging System
We implemented a direct communication feature—allowing vendors and contractors to message in real-time within the platform. No more ghosted texts, lost emails, or “Did you get my quote?” follow-ups.
4. Smarter Vendor Filtering
Our testers emphasized a huge fear: getting spammed by new vendors or low-quality responses. We locked in a solution:
Vendors only receive bids from contractors they’ve worked with before (or manually approved)
Requests stay within trusted networks
No cold-call-style floods
Your vendor network stays clean—and still competitive.
🛠️ The Evolution Continues
What we got right gave us confidence. What we changed gave us direction.
The ConstructX beta wasn’t just a pat on the back—it was a punch list. Contractors showed us exactly what needed sharpening, and we went to work. With every adjustment, we got closer to the platform we set out to build: fast, reliable, and easy for both GCs and subs.
That evolution leads us here—ready to step out of beta and into the real world.
But here’s what matters most: these wins and improvements aren’t just checkboxes. They’re real benefits that will change how you run jobs.
By getting the fundamentals right, we’ve built a system that saves you time, eliminates repetitive grunt work, and lets you focus on building. The improvements? They give you tighter control over materials, clearer communication with vendors, and peace of mind knowing you’re not missing critical details.
Every upgrade leads to less chaos, more clarity, and faster decisions. That’s what we’re delivering—because that’s what the field demands.
